Save the Children invites applications for the following positions under an urgent response program to recent Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh. We are working in different locations in Cox’s Bazar, providing vital services to displaced Rohingya peoples, including distributing the food, shelter, water & sanitation, education, health, nutrition, and child protection needs of the Rohingya refugees, particularly of the children.

Rohingya Response Director

Number of position: 1 (One)
Job Nature: Contractual
Job Location: Cox’s Bazar

Responsibilities:

The Rohingya Response Director will provide oversight and strategic direction to the Rohingya Response country program in collaboration with the Country Director and the Regional Operations team.
S/he will be responsible to identify program needs, resources as well as to elaborate programmatic, operational, strategic and leadership recommendations for the emergency response in line with Save the Children national and global priorities.
The post holder will develop and manage programs or country support functions and negotiate and network at an international level.
S/he will take the lead on implementing Response relevant national level budgets, while keeping relevant stakeholders informed and ensuring any corrective actions are taken where required.
The position is expected to undertake high level representation and advocacy on a national, regional and international level to donors, the media and members of the humanitarian community as well as GoB counterpart.
S/he will ensure that all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures are in place and the emergency response program is compliant with all these policies.
The post holder will play a leading role to scale up and effectively manage the Rohingya Response program to create impact and bring positive changes for children
Requirements:

Senior management level experience in leading a diverse, multi-functioned and/or multi-sector team/s as a Country Director or other relevant SMT level.
Proven experience of managing multi-donor, multi-site programs (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA) in a first phase response at regional or country level
Managed teams of large-scale and complex in nature in first phase emergency response projects/programs
Hands on experience of multi-site security management
Experiences in international level representation with key stakeholders, co-ordination with other NGOs/UN as well as in international media representation or advocacy
Developed and negotiated successful partnerships with institutional donors
Ability to influence change at an operational and strategic level
An advanced level command in written and spoken English
Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
Flexible and accommodative in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
