Save the Children invites applications in Field Supervisor positons for strengthening its coordination in the field to ensure quality services in collaboration will all the sectors. Eligible female candidates and candidates from Cox’s Bazar are strongly encouraged to apply.
The role
The Field Supervisor (FS) will work closely with programme teams of all sectors (thematic and cross thematic), the community, camp management, NGO actors, implementing partners, and other external stakeholders to ensure camp level coordination.
The FS is the Save the Children International (SCI) focal point and representative to camp management – Majhees, Site Management (SMS) and Camp in Charge (CIC). The FS is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with all the levels of camp management, implementing partners, and other NGO actors in the area; as well as resolving field level challenges that arise in the camps in coordination with SCI programme teams and/or camp management. The FC will also support the establishment of activities across all sectors in their camp/zone by working with programme teams to obtain the approval of CIC and the endorsement of all other related actors. He/She is responsible for representing SCI in CIC General Coordination meetings to share updates and challenges related to SCI activities, as well as receive field level updates from camp management to report to the Field Coordination Manager. The FS will also coordinate with SCI sector focal points to ensure representation at Camp Level Sector Coordination Meetings and will step in to cover when sector focal points are unable to attend meetings.
The FS will facilitate close integration between programme teams of all sectors of intervention (thematic and cross thematic) at camp level by supporting discussions between SCI sector focal points and camp management as well as organising regular SCI inter-sector coordination meetings where updates on activities and challenges are shared. Through these meetings, new points of integration in the field will be identified.
During a weather emergency or extraordinary circumstance, the FC will be part of the Rapid Needs Assessment team and will coordinate with other teams for getting support of outreach workers to collect and share updates/damage reports on SCI structures and update on whether the community seeks shelter in SCI structures.
The FS will ensure full compliance with Save the Children policies, practices and standards. He/she will also act as the Child Safeguarding focal point and Safety and Security focal point for the area. He/she will act as local liaison of the camps to ensure Save the Children services are properly coordinated.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum Bachelor Degree in any relevant area of education;
03 years’ experience in NGOs is preferred;
A good understanding of health, hygiene, nutrition and/or protection issues within the target community;
Ability to work within a tight timeframe;
Experience working in camp coordination;
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a multicultural team;
Motivated and prepared to work in the field areas and in challenging conditions;
Ability to communicate with the Rohingya population or knowledge of Chittagonian dialect is highly preferred;
Passionate about improving the lives of children;
Non-discriminatory and gender sensitive approach;
Experience of working in camp setting (IDP or Refugee) is an advantage;
Good level of spoken and written communication in English is desirable;
Good computer skill especially in operating MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Contract length: 04 months with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
