This role is for ensuring emergency support to the Rohingya as part of Christian Aid’s emergency programme. We are looking for a person who is already working in international organisation as a manager/officer or within a team having experience in similar area in Bangladesh or any other country. You’ll see this as an excellent opportunity to lead the food security, market, cash and livelihood programming component and to engage with multi-stakeholder partnership on emergency response for the on-going Rohingya crisis. The Programme Officer – Food Security, Cash, Markets for Christian Aid’s Bangladesh country office will be responsible for coordinating with local government, I/NGOs, food clusters, food sectors and all relevant project stakeholders. The role holder will support Christian Aid’s response to the on-going Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh with special focuses on the food security, cash, market and livelihood sector interventions. The role holder will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Christian Aid’s food security, cash, markets and livelihood humanitarian response, providing effective and timely support (including capacity building) to Rohingya & host community and partner organizations, enabling them to implement the rapid, effective and principled cash/FSL response to emergencies, and ensuring that this is in line with Christian Aid’s country strategy and Humanitarian Standards. The role holder will be representing Christian Aid in food sector, cash working groups (CWG) meetings/activities and engage in the right networks, while increasing the profile and visibility of Christian Aid’s humanitarian work in the region. The role holder will closely work with the Rohingya response team in Cox’s Bazar to achieve the targets and objectives of the response program. S/he will need to take on challenges to ensure a rapid, effective and timely response, holding overall responsibility for project achievements and results. The person should have clear understanding on humanitarian architecture of Bangladesh, overall coordination mechanisms and experience working in adverse situation to manage crisis.
