
A Rohingya community leader named Mohammad Noor (25) has been beaten to death in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. This incident took place at the 20 No. Rohingya shelter camp in the sub-district around 8.30 pm yesterday.
Deceased Mohammad Noor, son of Abu Syed, resident of M-32 block of Rohingya shelter camp. He is the chief boat (community leader) engaged in the camp.
Additional DIG Mohammad Sirajul Amin, the captain of 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) in charge of the Rohingya Asylum Camp has confirmed this information to today’s magazine. Mohammad Noor was returning home from Mozammel Haque’s grocery store in the M-32 block of Rohingya camp yesterday night, he said. When he reached in front of Tayyab’s house on the way, four-five miscreants hacked him with sharp weapons in the darkness. He died on the spot.
Sirajul Amin also said, locals reported him dead on the road after the Tarabi prayer at night. Police went and rescued the dead body. Sharp weapons injuries in different places of the dead body.
A group of miscreants attacked Mohammad Noor last Ramadan, says this official of APBNA. He survived his life then. This incident of murder due to previous enmity may have happened.
